Not only can you not get newfangled key fobs duplicated at any old hardware store, but they’ll set you back at least $200 if one gets lost or broken. (And am I supposed to take my keys in to the dealer when the clicker’s battery inevitably goes dead?)
My wife now has a new car. 2008 Beetle S, harvest moon beige. Neither one of us had driven a European car before, and in the approximately 12 hours that we’ve owned this one we’ve fallen absolutely in love with it. The only downside is the big honking key — do they really need to combine it with the clicker? I’d rather carry the valet key instead.
